Laboratory of Mobile Communications
The Laboratory was founded in 2000, formerly the key lab of the Ministry of Information Technology, Engineering Research Centre of the Education Ministry as well as the Chongqing Engineering Research Centre. Being a member of the TD-SCDMA Industry Union and FuTURE Forum, the lab pro-actively participates in the nationwide LTE +Technology Standard Promotion team activities.
The lab is the pace-setter for the TD-SCDMA technology in China, and has nurtured a competitive edge in the telecommunications domain with independent R & D. The lab is currently focusing on: TD-SCDMA HSUPA terminal baseband chip; LTE TDD terminal baseband chip; TD-SCDMA trunking communication system; IMT-Advanced wireless network technology; and IMT-Advanced multiple access technology.
Laboratory of Optical Communications
The lab is formerly the Optical Fiber Telecommunication Research Institute established in 1980, and it is one of the trail-blazers in the WDM telecommunications frontier in China.
In recent years, the lab is committed to the following projects: Routing and scheduling algorithm for Optical Burst Switched (OBS) networks; Super-FEC codec in optical transmission system; the architecture and functional model for IP DiffServ-over-OBS networks; Micro-Optical-Electro-mechanical System (MOEMS) with its application in optical communications.
Laboratory of Signal and Information Processing
The lab is focusing on (1) Modern Signal & information processing; (2) Complex communication signal processing; (3) Speech and video signal processing; (4) System-on-chip implements technology.
In recent years, the lab focuses on the following projects: Very weak signal detection and estimation methods for spread-spectrum modulated signal; Blind estimation of lower SNR OS-UWB spread-spectrum signal; Low bit-rate wireless video encoding and transmission control.
Network Testing Engineering R&D Centre
The research centre is the former SPC Switching Technology Research Institute founded in 1987, and is a specialist university involving in the telecommunication test technology in China. The research focuses on (1) Telecommunication network testing and instrument; (2) QoS for IP network and network security detection; (3) High speed optical network management and testing.
The past three years have witnessed 21 research results were transformed into industrialization, and yielded substantial economic and social benefits in all the cities in China. Major achievements include TD-SCDMA/WCDMA/CDMA2000 network analyzer, mobile network concentrative monitoring system, NGN network analyzer, network performance tester, IPTV test instrument, etc.
